Paradise Lost: More Fun, Dick with Jane

This isn’t the book I received in First Grade, in 1951, in P.S.273, in Brooklyn. My book isn’t about a white, suburban family living in an ideal world. It is about a heterogenous world that is imperfect and full of contradictions. Here animals talk, argue and criticize each other much as people do, parents are full of fears and doubts, and children’s games mirror real life.
